in sg, every parent has very high expectations for their child.even my parents wanted me to do well in school and would constantly compare me with other kids.they would also hire tutors and ground me from hanging out with my friends.

I still didn't do well in school though, I passed every class but my grades were just average.

𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐬, 𝐩𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠.

in sg, everyone has a misconception whereby if you have any tattoos or if you smoke, you'd be considered what we call a "pai kia" that is directly translated to "bad kid".this misconception is usually created by close-minded boomers.

i still went ahead and got piercings though... piercing count: 6.. oops!!

𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐨𝐝.

in sg, you're expected to be able to eat spicy food. for years, I struggled with eating spicy as my tolerance wasn't that high.i was able to increase my tolerance slightly earlier this year.

in sg, we mainly speak English and Chinese. we do have other languages like malay, tamil and also dialects.speaking of languages in sg, we have plenty! The most popular language we, Singaporeans, use is what foreigners call "singlish"! which is a mix of English and other dialects we have.

the languages I speak/understand

english || chinese || hokkien (dialect) || cantonese (dialect) || korean (self-taught)

they say that Singapore is summer all year round which is so true.. i would sweat buckets during the hottest time of the year.

some photos are taken by me!!

- lok-lok

it is literally food on sticks but they would deep fry it and top it off with a special savoury sauce.

- huoguo (hotpot)

basically you cook your own food in a pot of soup.

- korean / japanese bbq

cooking your own meat on the charcoal stove.

during the first half of the year, Singapore was under lockdown for a few months. we were supposed to be at home and go out unless it is necessary. wearing a mask was also a law, those that were seen without a mask would be fined 300$(SGD). everyone pretty much abided the law.the situation right now is pretty much controlled. we are no longer under quarantine, (except for those flying in). the cases we have daily doesn't exceed 20 and those are usually imported cases.currently going on to phase 3 which makes meeting up with friends easier but everyone is still required to wear a mask.
