Hello everyone and welcome to the second article in couples of the @thehoneyclub theme week!!
Today is my turn to bring you my article. I hope you love it and don’t forget to read other articles from our special week!!
I bring you a very special and personal article. I will share with you some of my favorite summer memories and also I´ll be telling some summer curiosities! I will divide them into four different categories:
Night Summer Memories.
Summer memories in another country.
Summer Memories at my birth town.
Favorite summer memory.
Let's begin!
✧✩✧✩
1- ☾ Night Summer Memory ☽
-: This is a super silly memory, but it gets me a smile every time I remember it.
More than a single memory, it is what my family and I did some nights when we were on holidays in Lanzarote.
Lanzarote is an island that belongs to the archipelago of the Canary Islands, in Spain, and from Madrid takes about two and a half hours by plane to arrive.
Lanzarote has been, is and will be one of my favorite places in the world, and partly is because of what i´m going to tell you now: After having dinner every night, the hotel prepared a kind of "mini-disco" so kids could dance and make games for a while. At the end of that, there was a show that varied every night. Still, every year they did a Mamma Mia musical! I absolutely love all ABBA’s songs, and singing them around people from different parts of the world is great. It’s a memory I love to think of.
Summer curiosity: Some monuments grow! The most striking example is the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Why is this happening? This structure is made of iron, and what happens is that the metal expands with the heat, and as a result, the iconic tower can grow more than 15 centimeters in the hot months.
2- ✧ Summer Memories in Another Country ✧
- @Alejandralahey: I’ve been lucky enough to be able to travel to Disneyland several times and I can safely say, it’s the best place in the world, the most magical and precious place in the universe.
Many of you will know, but just before closing the park, there is a fireworks show at the castle (in the case of Disneyland Paris is the Sleeping Beauty castle)
Before they start, some voices warn in French and English that the show is about to start. This is what these voices say: "In each of us there is a dreamer, waiting to be awakened. We all have the magic to free that inner child, but sometimes that inner child needs an invitation to come out and play." "This is your invitation, to dream". Then, the music start to sound and the castle shines, and all this produces such a beautiful feeling that it cannot be described in words.
Summer curiosity: The month of June is named after "Juniores" the lower branch of the Roman senate, or Juno, the wife of Jupiter.
3- ღ Summer Memories at our Birth Town ღ
-@Alejandralahey: I have a really good memory of those sleepovers my best friend did at her house. Those parties where we went to the pool, then we sang and danced, then we watched a movie, we talked about how little was left to start a new course, about our worries, about what we liked... We’d fall asleep at 6:00 in the morning and then we were too tired to do anything, but we still did everything. I love those memories, too.
Summer curiosity: solstices are moments when the Sun reaches its apparent height in the sky. This causes the longest lengths of day or night throughout the year.
4- ♡ Favorite Summer Memory ♡
Summer curiosity: Many ancient civilizations celebrated the summer solstice: the ancient pagans celebrated the solstice by burning fires. The ancient Greeks honored the god of agriculture Cronus; the ancient Romans did the same with Vesta, the goddess of home.
-@Alejandralahey: What I love most about every summer is that day when you get up very early, grab your bags quickly, get in the car and watch the sunrise from the window. Then you arrive at the terminal at the airport and nervous, although happy, leave your bags, pass the controls and sit in any cafeteria to have breakfast.
Then you line up, you get on the plane, and you just want to arrive to your destiny and never come back.
"Do you ever see an airplane passing over you and wish you were on it and you didn't care where it was going?"
